Felabration is a week long annual festival that honors the legendary Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

Launched in Nigeria originally, Felabration festivities are now held all over the world.

The NYC Felabration event featured Zozo Afrobeat, led by Kaleta Ligan-Majek, who played with Fela himself. Also in attendance from the Kuti family was Kayode Kuti. He joined Zozo Afrobeat on the stage, and played the bass. Kayode was a bassist in Fela’s Egypt 80 under the leadership of Seun Kuti.
