New York City bans sales of large sugary drinks
JUST IN: New York City’s Board of Health has approved a ban on sales of sugary drinks in containers larger than 16 ounces. This is the first restriction of its kind in the U.S., The New York Times reports.

If someone told me I’d be living in a prohibition era, and the prohibited item of choice was soda larger than 16 ounces, I would have never believed it. History will laugh at this absurd measure. This is so damn stupid. Also, people will just buy more of the smaller drinks nullifying this stupid ban. Or maybe they’ll decide they haven’t fucked with your free will enough and will limit the quantity of small sodas you can buy so that the total doesn’t go beyond 16 ounces.
NYC, this is your mayor.
