I guess I have accidentally stumbled into a Duke Ellington kind of day.

If you have ever seen footage of Johnny Hodges playing his horn, you’d be tricked into believing it was an easy thing to do. Charlie Parker affectionately referred to Johnny “Rabbit” Hodges as “the lily pons of the altos”. Hodges manner on his horn may have contributed to that view of him as much as his sweet tone did.
